Apr 14 - Best Nine Holes
Apr 26&27 Spring Fling
May 5 - President Cup

President
Tim Devaney

By the time you read this Easter will only be a week away and we will have
marched our way in to spring. Speaking of spring the Fling tournament is
getting a slow response and if you are planning on playing it is time to act. On
our website larvga.com, under the Birdie Bugler section, check out the March
issue and you will find all the information.

As you will read from Ms. Heffinton’s article the SCGA has re-rated our golf
course and will take effect shortly. It is their responsibility to determine the
difficulty of a course from the perspective of a scratch golfer and equally high
handicap golfer. There have been some changes. Speaking of changes, every
week on our golf course has shown some type of improvement’s and I
noticed that there is a new drainage system in the fairway of 6 north that
looks like it will help immensely. Have you started to see the beginnings of
fairway and rough outlined on a lot of the holes now.

I think the summer and the heat stimulating grass growth is going to be a
pleasant sight this year, Also a new sight is in the offing and it will be in the
form of a new score card with the changing of some hole handicaps. This is
the sole responsibility of the golf course with gathered information and input
from play on the course.

The men’s club meeting in April will entertain a guest speaker from
Taylormade to describe and share information and goodies about their new
product line. It should be fun and informational. See you on the 7th.

Know The Rules
Match Play, If a player plays when his opponent should have
played, there is no penalty, but the opponent may immediately
require the player to cancel the stroke so made and, in the
correct order, play a ball as nearly as possible at the spot from
which the original ball was last played (Rule 10-1)

Match Play. Using Cell Phones during a match, there is no
penalty for using a cell phone during a match unless the club
adopts such a rule. Royal Vista does not have such a rule at
this time. Try to be respectful to your fellow players and do not
use your cell phone unless it is an emergency. Also, set your
phone in the vibrate mode.
